This is a list of Genealogy mailing lists that you might be interested
in joining to help further your research.

So you want to participate in a mailing list? All you have to do is send e-mail commands to a computer software program. Do it right, and you will be automatically added to the list. Do it wrong, and... you get to do it over again. So, please be careful to follow the instructions exactly. Different lists my ask you to do different things. The beauty of the E-mail lists is that the messages everyone posts comes directly to your e-mail box. No trying to remember to check this newsgroup or that. Another plus is that most lists give you the option of receiving each message as it is posted, or getting it in a "digest" form, where all the e-mails for the day come in one large e-mail.

Family Names

Kentucky Footsteps - A mailing list for the posting of original Kentucky source material. Submit transcriptions of your deeds, wills, obituaries, tax lists, marriage lists, old letters, newspaper articles, census records on your surname, pension applications, guardianship records, old bibles, etc. Note: NO QUERIES ALLOWED on this list. Material posted to this list must have a Kentucky connection and will be placed in the KyGenWeb Archives as well as in the individual counties it belongs to. Directions for subscribing/unsubscribing and posting information are found on the KY-Footsteps web page.
