| Notes | "The Crawfords of Adams Co., Ohio" Compiled by H. Marjorie Crawford, Ph.D, 1976.Came to US with 6 of their children in 1840 and 2 others were born here. they lived in what was called the Old Stone House, about 4 miles north of West Union on Lick fork. This house was built by Andrew Ellison about 1806. | Notes | They bought land just south of the Old Stone house in Nov. 1840 and built a frame house there. The original sea chest in which they brought their possessions on the 'Napier' is still in the family. It is a box of heavy lumber, about 2 x 2 x 4 feet with the initials R.C. burned in the lid. |
